We represent employees working in all job roles and all regions at the National Trust for Scotland. Join Us
Through the local Branch Executive Committee, we speak up on behalf of our members in discussions on relevant issues with management. These areas include pay, terms and conditions, local policies, health and safety, equality and diversity and environmental concerns. In the past, Prospect negotiated changes to Pay and Grading as well as negotiating the right to return for seasonal workers, bringing a significant improvement in their working conditions.
By joining your colleagues in Prospect Union, you will have a say in the issues that matter to you.
Here are some examples of the things we have been doing:

Provided advice and support for members during redundancy programmes.

Lobbying the Scottish Government on Natural and built heritages include support for the heritage sector during the ongoing pandemic

Ensuring that the lowest paid staff are paid at least the Scottish Living wage.

Protecting the physical and mental well being of staff through our work Health and safety Committee.

Speaking up on equality issues, ensure that everyone is treated fairly.

Providing advice and representation to members who need it. These include topics such as workplace stress, disciplinary matters; and allegations of bullying and harassment.

Speaking up about members views on policies at NTS, for example tipping, key holding and broader issues such as climate change and environmental issues.
