Prospect is asking SONI, Northern Ireland’s electricity system operator, to trust its staff to manage their leave responsibly and voluntarily in the current circumstances.
Yesterday the Irish Congress of Trade Unions took the decision to close their office in Belfast for a period of two weeks from Monday 16th March, as a result of the ongoing issues with the spread of the Covid-19 virus. As Prospect's Belfast is located in the ICTU Office this effectively means the Prospect Office will also close.
Prospect members at SONI, which operates the electricity grid in Northern Ireland, made a donation to charity as a way of thanking their full-time negotiator for her support during difficult pay negotiations with the company.
